Introduction
A decanter centrifuge is a high-performance separation system designed to employ centrifugal force for the efficient separation of components with differing densities within a mixture. Specifically applied in olive oil processing, this robust stainless steel machine effectively separates oil, water, and solid impurities from olive paste and other oil-rich mixtures, ensuring high purity and process efficiency.
Working Principle
The decanter centrifuge operates based on sedimentation under centrifugal force. As the mixture is fed into the high-speed rotating bowl, intense centrifugal forces cause the denser solid particles to migrate outward and accumulate along the bowl wall. Meanwhile, the lighter liquid components—specifically olive oil and water—form distinct concentric layers according to their respective densities. These separated phases are continuously and efficiently discharged through designated outlets:
Solids: Conveyed to and ejected from the solids discharge port.
Oil: Collected as the lightest phase and discharged via the dedicated oil outlet.
Water: Removed as the intermediate layer and expelled through the water outlet.
This process allows continuous, high-throughput separation suitable for modern olive oil production facilities.
