304 Stainless Steel Center Drive Sludge Scraper for Sewage Sedimentation Tanks
This central drive sludge scraper is designed for radial flow (circular) sedimentation tanks, typically with diameters not exceeding 18 meters. It is widely used in water plants and municipal/industrial wastewater treatment facilities for efficient sludge collection and removal. The scraper system consists of a drive unit, main rotating shaft, support bridge, scraper arms, vertical picket fences, support brackets, scraper blades, overflow weir, connecting rods, scum skimmers, submerged bearings, flow stabilizer, and an automatic control panel.
Working Principle
Wastewater enters through an inlet pipe into a central diffusion drum, where it is evenly distributed radially outward. Suspended solids settle to the tank bottom during this process. The drive unit rotates the central column, which in turn moves the scraper arms and attached blades. Settled sludge is gently pushed toward a central hopper. Hydrostatic pressure then forces the sludge out through a discharge pipe. Floating scum is directed by surface skimmers to the periphery, where it is removed by a scum scraper and discharged into a separate collection bucket. Clarified water overflows into a peripheral launder via triangular weirs before exiting the tank.
Applications
This scraper is suitable for a wide range of sedimentation applications across municipal, chemical, textile, and metallurgical wastewater treatment plants. Its rational design ensures high efficiency, simple operation, and low maintenance, making it an optimal choice for modern sewage treatment processes.
Key Features
Durable Bridge Design: The half-bridge structure is available in carbon steel or anti-corrosion stainless steel.
High-Efficiency Drive: Utilizes a combined helical and worm gear reducer, providing reliable torque output and rotational speed for superior power transmission.
Built-in Safety: The reducer includes an overload (torque) protection device for secure and stable operation.
Flexible Control: Supports both local and remote operation for easy integration into automated treatment systems.
