Low-Noise, Energy-Saving Eco-Friendly Sewage Treatment Plant: Continuous Flow Sand Filtration System
Control System
The control system for the continuous flow sand filter comprises an electrical control cabinet and a pneumatic control cabinet. Each electrical control cabinet can manage one or multiple pneumatic control units, while each pneumatic control cabinet regulates the operation of one or more sand filter units.
The electrical control cabinet provides essential functions for starting, operation, and alarm monitoring of the continuous sand filter. During normal operation, it ensures continuous flushing of the system. In case of operational abnormalities, an alarm signal is transmitted to the control box. Subsequent procedures will then trigger an automatic shutdown of the filtration system, either via the operator or through integration with the customer’s central control system.

Applications
The continuous flow sand filter represents a significant advancement over traditional sand filters. It is an integrated continuous filtration unit combining coagulation, clarification, and filtration processes. Utilizing an up-flow filtration principle with homogeneous filter media, it performs simultaneous filtration and sand washing. This allows for 24/7 continuous automated operation without the need for shutdowns and backwashing.
Its ingeniously designed sand-lifting and washing mechanism replaces traditional high-power backwash systems, resulting in extremely low operational energy consumption. The system is easy to manage and supports unattended operation. It is widely used in drinking water treatment, industrial water supply, sewage treatment, and water reuse applications.
Structure and Working Principle
The continuous flow sand filter system can be installed as a standalone unit or integrated as a filtration component within turbid water treatment processes.
When installed independently, it consists of a tank and internal filter components. The internal components—including inlet/outlet pipes, water distributors, sand washers, flush water outlets, and airlift pump housings—are constructed from stainless steel or fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP).
The tank design is suitable for small-scale filtration and can operate with a single unit or multiple units in parallel. It is easy to install and requires no large civil works, significantly reducing construction time.
For large-scale filtration requirements, the system utilizes a concrete structure with internal components made of stainless steel or FRP.
In this configuration, all filter units share a common sand bed. The system operates in groups, with each group capable of functioning in parallel or independently, offering full adaptability to varying filtration demands.
Packing and Delivery
1. Waterproof packing with the international export standard by 20ft, 40ft, 40hp container. Equipment Fittings, Electric Motor and Power Cabinet will be packed in Wooden Case or Iron Box. Other Equipment will be packed by Color-Stripes Plastic Cloth.
2. The whole plant machinery size are large as normal, so we will use Waterproof cloth to pack all of them. The motor, gear box or other easily damaged parts, we will put them into box. We have a professional shipping department, they will try their best to save your container quantity.
